Robert S. Lausten

 

Robert S. LaustenBiography

Robert S. Lausten was appointed Chief of Police in May of 2002.  Lausten has 24 years of law enforcement experience, the past 18 in La Vista.  He has a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement-Police Science from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from St. John’s.  Lausten is a graduate of both the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Academy and the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.  Lausten was appointed by the Governor in 2008 to a 4 year term on the Police Standards Advisory

Council.  The Advisory Council oversees the operation of the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center and ensures policies and procedures related to law enforcement training are carried out.

Police PatchDue to the large number of requests, we are unable to supply police patches to individual collectors or departments.

Responsibilities

The Chief of Police commands the overall operations of the department.  He has the responsibility of determining departmental policies and for ensuring the complete discharge of all duties imposed upon him.
