Sewer Backups
Residents are reminded to notify Public Works (402-331-8927) or via a Citizens Request for Action when having home sewer lines professionally cleaned. Material removed from your sewer line is forced into the main sewer line. City crews will check and service the main sewer line to ensure that everything is flowing normally.
Also, residents should be aware that the City has a regular maintenance program for sewer lines. Most homeowners insurance policies do not automatically cover damage caused by sewer backups. This coverage is available, but is in addition to the normal policy. Ask your insurance agent for further information.
