Summer Reading 2023: June 1- July 31

This summer we are celebrating all the hometown heroes in our community! So make sure to spread the love and thank all the people who help you, whether that's your parents, grandparents, teachers, doctors, nurses, neighborhood police officers, local firefighters, or anyone else who helps supports you. In fact, you can be a community hero too! Every time you lend a helping hand you make a big difference for someone else.

Registration for Summer Reading opens June 1

Paper reading logs can be picked up from the library. Readers (or their guardians) must have an active library card to participate. After completing the reading challenges you will bring your paper reading log back to the library for a prize.

All Reading Logs Must be Returned by July 31

Reading Prizes

Prize #1 - After finishing the first reading log you can bring it back to the library for a small prize and 2 drawing tickets. Tickets can be used to enter our grand prize drawing. If you want to keep reading you can get a second reading log. Prize #1 can be collected starting June 19.

Prize #2 - If you finish the second reading log you get a slightly larger prize bag and 3 drawing tickets to enter our grand prize drawing. This is the last reading log for you to complete for prizes. Prize #2 can be collected starting July 5. 

Grand Prize Baskets - At the end of the summer we will draw the winners for the grand prize baskets. These 13 baskets will be viewable throughout the summer in our front display case. There will be items of interest for every age in the baskets, so children, teens, and adults are all invited to read for the chance to win one. You aren't guaranteed to win if you enter, but the more you read the more tickets you can earn for the drawing!

If you earn drawing tickets from reading, you get to choose which basket you want to try and win! Readers are welcome to put their tickets in the drawing for whatever basket(s) they want, but know that a single person cannot win more than one basket. Caregivers with multiple children need to make sure to write each child's name down on that child's tickets, otherwise we may assume it is the same person. This year you also want to make sure you borrow at least one book with your library card over the summer. Readers who didn't borrow any books from the library won't be qualified to win a basket even if they are drawn, so take a look around the library and choose some good books!

100 Acts of Kindness Challenge

In addition to reading, we invite you to participate in our 100 Acts of Kindness Challenge! Do some good deeds this summer by spreading kindness wherever you go. Participants who finish will be eligible for the chance to win a special prize! The prize will be for children, but adults can participate and gift the prize to one of their own children or grandchildren if they win.
