In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the La Vista Police Department has modified several aspects of their response for the time being. 

• Officers will attempt to avoid all non-essential close contact (within 6 feet) when interacting with others. In all situations, officers may be outfitted with Protective Equipment (i.e. gloves and masks).
• Citizens calling in for police services will be screened by Sarpy County Communications staff to determine if an immediate police response is needed. When applicable and possible, La Vista Police Officers will take reports via the telephone, especially where there is a past event (identity theft, credit card fraud, quality of life reports).  Once the report is taken, it will be fully investigated and any leads will be pursued.
• Officers will continue to respond in-person to calls involving violence, threat to life and in-progress calls
