Fire and Security Alarm System Registration Chapter 116 of the La Vista Municipal Code regulates the activities and responsibilities of persons who purchase, rent, or use alarm systems, devices, or services. It applies to both security alarm systems and fire alarm systems.

Completion of a City of La Vista Registration of Security and Fire Alarms form is required as well as an annual registration fee. Knox Box Systems are also required for buildings (other than single-family residences and duplexes) with installed fire alarm systems.

The City also imposes penalty fees for excessive false alarms as outlined in the Master Fee Ordinance (PDF).
